Jussi Jokinen TTM

Jussi Jokinen c/o Dallas Stars (former team) - 1,568 days (!!!) - 1/1

Another weird return! Not only does it come back (with insufficient postage) after over 4 years, but enclosed with the card was a form letter from Mr. Jokinen dated April 4th, 2007 with a Dallas Stars letter heading (thanking me for my request). It looks as if he signed the card back then and sealed the envelope, then forgot to mail it until recently! I'm glad the card made it back! :o)

Gaye Stewart TTM

Gaye Stewart c/o home - 21 days - 3/3

This is a weird return for me as Mr. Stewart died the day after he sent me those (the envelope was postmarked November 17 and he died on November 18). It just goes to show how he took care of his fans right until the very end! My condolences to his family...

Ryan Bourque IP

Today the Lewiston Maineiacs once again played against the Québec Remparts at the Colisée. I figured this was my chance to get some cards signed by Stéphane Fiset, who was at Friday night's game between those same 2 teams... After the game, I looked for him where the players come out, but he was nowhere to be found. Oh well, at least I got a card signed by Ryan Bourque!

Québec Remparts vs. Lewiston Maineiacs IP

Earlier tonight I attended the game between the Québec Remparts and the Lewiston Maineiacs at the Colisée and stayed after the game for autographs. The first autographs I got were from Steven Finn, who's now the Maineiacs' assistant coach:

A few minutes later I spotted Mr. Finn chatting with Stéphane Fiset, who's now an agent. Unfortunately, I hadn't brought cards of him, not knowing he'd be there. About the same time, I almost got to ask Kirill Kabanov to sign my card as he jogged around the Colisée after the game, but I wasn't quick enough... :o\

From the Remparts, I was able to get these cards signed by Louis Domingue and Joël Champagne.

Once again, I set out to try and wait for Patrick Roy. It got to a point where there were only me and a guy who wanted to get his Habs jersey signed waiting. I ended up catching Mr. Roy as he was about to leave the arena and he signed the 2 cards I had:

Needless to say, I'm pretty excited that he completed the dual card that was already signed by Martin Brodeur!

Ryan Bourque IP

Earlier tonight I went and saw the Québec Remparts play against the Montréal Junior at the Colisée. After the game, I got this card signed by Ryan Bourque:

My friend and I then waited for Patrick Roy to come out. We knew he usually came out much later than the rest of the team, but when he wasn't out by 11:30 PM, we decided to leave! I'm sure I'll get a chance to get him to sign my cards some other time... :o)

Andre Ethier IP

When I went to my first Dodgers game ever earlier today during a trip to California with my girlfriend, I didn't expect to do any autograph hounding there. When I noticed some people getting autographs from the Dodgers near their dugout before the game though, I decided to buy a Rawlings Official Major League Baseball at the souvenir stand and I went down there to see if I could get my favorite player, Andre Ethier, to sign my baseball. After doing some stretching on the field, he signed for a few minutes for the fans who were there and I was able to get my baseball signed (by borrowing someone's pen)!

I wish he had signed it on the sweet spot, but I guess he thought I wanted to get it signed by the whole team... I'm still extremely happy I got his signature, which was totally unexpected! Here's a picture I snapped of him signing more stuff after he had signed my ball:

Martin Brodeur TTM

Martin Brodeur c/o someone who works for the New Jersey Devils - 210 days - 2/2

A year or so ago, my sister met someone who happened to work for the Devils at a local car dealership. She said she chatted with him a bit and he was very nice, so I decided to try and mail him some cards to get signed by Martin Brodeur (telling him about how my sister had met him). Today I got a note from him saying he had just read my note while Martin Brodeur was in his office, so here were my cards signed! One of my most unreal success! :o)

Hong-Chih Kuo TTM

Hong-Chih Kuo c/o Los Angeles Dodgers - 28 days - 1/1

Unfortunately, the card got slightly damaged in the mail and the autograph also got smudged a bit, but I'm still happy to get it back signed! I'll have to send to him again in the future!

I'm not sure how much he usually charges per autograph, but I included $11 with my request and it worked...

Pro-Am Simon Gagné IP

Today took place the 2nd annual Pro-Am Simon Gagné, which is a hockey game/event organized by Simon Gagné between pros and amateurs for charity. Before the game, there was a tailgate party outside the arena where the pros taking part in the game sat at tables for an autograph session. Knowing in advance who was supposed to be there, I brought cards along and got all these signed:

Unfortunately, some of the players who were supposed to be there didn't show up (Claude Giroux, Daniel Brière and Donald Brashear). On the other end, other players who weren't supposed to come were there to replace them, but not knowing in advance they were going to be around, I hadn't brought cards of them. They were Maxime Talbot, Bruno Gervais, Jason Demers and Alexandre Picard (the forward).
